(Continuation.) And so after I took picture with that old lady, people started coming up to us too for photos. In fact, some of the parents of kids were more excited than the kids, especially for those who are too young to understand what was going on with the land mermaid! And it was an overwhelming rush of traffic, but soaking up these strangers on Christmas, making just a little bit of their day, was amazing and exhilarating. (To be continued.) So, continuation of story time! We wanted to shoot the Christmas decor down on Orchard Central... we accidentally chose to do it on Christmas Day. In the evening. Right when there’s peak foot traffic on Orchard Road. Lol. There were so many tourists and shoppers all looking to take photos of the Christmas lights, and it was so awkward to stand in one corner in public to put on the tail. And then it was even more awkward to stand in line and wait for our turn to shoot. We were planning to “Shoot And Run” till one adorable old lady came up to us with her phone and asked if she can take photo with me. And then... it was like the floodgates opened.😂 (To be continued.) One day @strengthsarchitect asked me, what meaning do you find in Life? And I fluffed around for a bit because I didn’t know how to answer the question, until I said: I want to make mermaid magic for the world. And as weird as that sounds, it’s true. People are always surprised when they hear about mermaiding (let alone that there’s a mermaid school) but the reactions have always been of curiosity, positivity and even amazement when they see what we can do. And the stars aligned when @thesingaporemermaid asked if I would join her for a finternship for @singaporemermaidschool at @fishpool @thencoclub. I’m grateful to the SG pod and Syrena for always pulling me out of my comfort zone. The breath holds can always get better, the technique can always get stronger, but the magic and awe from people is always there. I’m performing again tonight at Fishpool NCO Club at 7-8pm! These couple of years was when I started thinking much more about sustainability. How what we do affects Mother Earth. How trash never really goes away, but hangs around. How spending our money equates to voting with our money - even when we don't realize it or think that's just a dollar.
