One day @strengthsarchitect asked me, what meaning do you find in Life? And I fluffed around for a bit because I didn’t know how to answer the question, until I said: I want to make mermaid magic for the world. And as weird as that sounds, it’s true. People are always surprised when they hear about mermaiding (let alone that there’s a mermaid school) but the reactions have always been of curiosity, positivity and even amazement when they see what we can do. And the stars aligned when @thesingaporemermaid asked if I would join her for a finternship for @singaporemermaidschool at @fishpool @thencoclub. I’m grateful to the SG pod and Syrena for always pulling me out of my comfort zone. The breath holds can always get better, the technique can always get stronger, but the magic and awe from people is always there. I’m performing again tonight at Fishpool NCO Club at 7-8pm! Will wave my fins at you from the other side of the glass! These couple of years was when I started thinking much more about sustainability. How what we do affects Mother Earth. How trash never really goes away, but hangs around. How spending our money equates to voting with our money - even when we don't realize it or think that's just a dollar. I expected to have a good time. But I didn't expect this. Every Try Guy chose one theme because it didn't just represent what they're known for, it represents what they STRUGGLED WITH. Keith took rejection in a positive way and a positive spin, Ned took massive leaps of faith for his love for Ariel and Wesley even when he was scared, Eugene stopped trying to conform with a straight white society and embraced that he is gay and Asian. And Zach, sweet sweet Zach, well I didn't expect to be moved by Zach's "Ted Talk". But hearing him overcome his clinical depression, his chronic pain due to an accident, and his autoimmune disease which he will have to struggle with FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE, yet he can still see the positives in life, make incredible videos and stand on stages all over the world and just have fun, that was a real inspiration, at least for me. We take our health for granted all the time, and we forget how important it is. Listening to Zach reminded me of that. And listening to how all the guys dared to fail again and again and again and again but still continue is inspirational. Now they stand on stage with 6 million subscribers, a tour, a book and thousands of people listening to their every word, who are a predominantly younger generation. A younger generation to whom they say "do not be afraid to be yourself and to try and fail and fail again till you find success". I came to have a good time. But I didn't expect this.
